Rudi and Fickó: Gastronomy, off-leash

Let’s start with the essentials: Rudi and Fickó are two Border Terriers. While they lent the place their names and boundless energy, they fortunately don’t wield the wooden spoons—though their enthusiasm has certainly rubbed off on us.

Our story began simply here on Oroszlán Street in Szeged: we wanted a place where wild sourdough bread had a soul and the coffee had character. But as time went by, we felt that sourdough was just the beginning.

And so, the Bistro grew up alongside the bakery.

Today, the kitchen at Rudi és Fickó has taken on a life of its own. We are proud that our bistro concept has reached a level where serious professional expertise and culinary humility stand behind every dish—just without the unnecessary fuss.

  • On the plate: We don’t use fancy labels; instead, we let the flavors speak for themselves. Our chefs cook to the rhythm of the seasons, using bold pairings and the kind of technical precision you would expect from top-tier restaurants.

  • In the oven: Official, AVPN-certified Neapolitan pizza. This is a matter of honor for us: we bring the exact experience to the banks of the Tisza that you would seek out in the alleyways of Naples.

  • In the glass: Natural wines and specialty coffees, because we believe that good food deserves pure drinks.

This is our philosophy: world-class gastronomy served with local Szeged friendliness. Whether it’s a leisurely breakfast or a memorable dinner, our quality standards are strict, but the atmosphere is always friendly.
